We continue to put a lot of resources into promoting the Kitemark to both consumers and businesses using a mix of public relations, advertising, exhibitions, online activities and direct marketing. Here is what we have been up to lately, along with some of the results.

Garage Services
September 2008
Independent car servicing garages in the UK
Target: independent car servicing garages in the UK
Direct Mail and Public Relations
Targeting almost every single independent garage in the UK to make sure that they are aware of and interested in joining the Kitemark scheme. With your help in demanding the Kitemark you can make sure that every time you have your car servicing you get a good, honest, fair and safe service.

Window Installation
April 2008
Target: Window fitting companies in the UK over a certain turnover threshold
Method: Direct Mail and Telesales
While there have been Kitemark quality window and door products for some time, the majority of customer complaints came from the actual installation or fitting service. Even the very best product, badly fitted, will let you down. Now, there are Kitemark certified window and door fitters so by choosing Kitemark installation you can make sure you get good products, well fitted.

Protective Clothing
May 2008
Target: manufacturers of protective products and clothing
Method: Direct Mail and Telesales
Since the introduction of European Directives, the CE mark has become more widely used on personal protective products and clothing. However, this is not a mark of quality and we continue to encourage manufacturers to help their products stand out in a competitive market by getting their products certified to Kitemark standards. You will see Kitemarks on riding helmets, breathing masks and a range of other personal protective products.
